Brave… It’s finally here!!

Ivy Morgan hasn’t been feeling like herself lately. Not like anyone can blame her. After all, being held captive by a psychotic fae prince hell-bent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld is bound to leave some mental scars.

It’s more than that, though. Something dark and insidious is spreading throughout Ivy, more powerful than she could ever imagine… and it’s coming between her and the man she’s fallen deeply in love with, elite Order member Ren Owens.

Ren would do anything to keep Ivy safe. Anything. But when he makes a life altering choice for her, the fallout of his act has far reaching consequences that threaten to tear their lives apart.

If Ivy is going to have any hope of surviving this, she must put aside the hurt and betrayal she feels, and work with not only those she loves, but with an enemy she would rather kill than ever trust. War is coming, and it soon becomes clear that what Ivy and Ren thought they knew about the Order, themselves, and even their enemies, has been nothing but a cluster of dangerous, deadly lies. Ivy knows she must be more than just brave to save those she loves–and, ultimately, to save herself.

Because behind ever evil fae Prince, there’s a Queen…

Five Photos, Five Stories. Day 5

This will be a 5 day, 5 part series that contains a timeline story so stay tuned to see how it ends!

For years, 11 years, I have been besties with Amber. Ups and down, deaths and births, marriages and separations. However, things happen, fights happen and sometimes you need some distance to gain perspective on why you are best friends. I mean, it must say something if after all of this time we still talk on a near daily basis.

So, we went from seeing each other weekly to a couple of times a year. Her family accepts me as one of their own, going so far as to I call her mother mom and her daughter has called me mom in return.

It’s funny what little things, ideas, will do to a trio of women who have been through so much. Bringing once severed links back to the forefront.

Next time your bestie, sibling, parent or close friend asks you to go on a road trip to look/see/find something silly, go along for the ride. You may just end up with an endless count of memories, laughter and stories.

I was nominated by a very amazing woman, AJ Prince For the Love of … a Five Photos, Five Stories (in five days) challenge. Here is my Day 5 final photo and my story. Thank you Amber for the endless support and kick in the blog. It has been a fun challenge. Now I nominate KURT BRINDLEY to take on this fun photo challenge. He is a fellow blogger whose words are inspiring.

The “rules” of the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge are:

1) Post a photo each day for five consecutive days.
2) Attach a story…

Five Photos, Five Stories. Day 4

This will be a 5 day, 5 part series that contains a timeline story so stay tuned to see how it ends!

We found it! We found the alien grave! Apparently over the years the marker had been stolen so many times they lost count, so instead of wasting public money and resources they began marking the grave with stones like the one attached with a crude drawing of the spaceship on it. Too bad we didn’t see what the aliens actually looked like. No carvings of those attached, hmm

Before anyone asks, we didn’t find the ‘famous’ bird we were looking for. I don’t know why we were looking for it, or how she even found out about it, but after scouring the entire place we saw no signs of the famous bird.

Maybe the aliens came back and picked up the wrong grave…

Five Photos, Five Stories. Day 3

This will be a 5 day, 5 part series that contains a timeline story so stay tuned to see how it ends!

We arrived at Tater Junction and immediately recognized a car that had slowly driven by us while we were searching for said alien grave. Knowing it’s a small town and local people love to talk and gossip, we knew they would all have been told about the 3 women looking around for the grave.

We walked in and walked a loop around the restaurant, unsure as to where to sit. A gramps quickly told us in one section that if we didn’t want to be around smoke, we better ‘get on out’. We found a booth on the other side of the place and waited for our waiter.

He was nice, the food was reasonably priced and pretty delicious! So after a while my bestie went to the ladies room and when she returned, her cheeks were cherry red and she told us we absolutely had to use the restroom before we left. Her mother then went, she also came back cherry faced. So then it, of course, made me want to go.

This is what we saw…

The Entrance

This will be a 5 day, 5 part series that contains a timeline story so stay tuned to see how it ends!

So, off we set. Our Starbucks in hand, random music CD’s in my purse, iPad and camera’s fully charged for picture taking and an open road ahead of us.

We arrived at the cemetery mid morning and searched for about an hour before our stomachs couldn’t be ignored any longer and we set off to the local eatery…

Five Photos, Five Stories. Day 1

This will be a 5 day, 5 part series that contains a timeline story so stay tuned to see how it ends!

My longtime best friend had an idea pop into her head. She heard a story about a grave in Aurora, Texas that we just had to go check out. So while I had a week’s vacation, Thanksgiving week of 2014. she, her mother and I hatched a plan to take the first day of my vacation and take a long drive to find…

An Alien grave…

Spotify: Discovery Weekly

So usually I don’t blog about discovering new music but I thought I’d share today!

Spotify has a new thing it’s doing, every Monday it creates a playlist just for you based on the music you listen to. Which is a good thing for me WHEN I’m in the mood to discover new music, if not I tell it to bugger off and I listen to my comfort music.

So, the third song on my playlist is a song titled If You Can’t Hang and it’s by a band named Sleeping With Sirens. I must say I have not heard of this band before and it took me by surprise since this is right up my alley. It makes me think of Hawthorne Heights and My Chemical Romance having a music baby and named it Sleeping With Sirens.

Some of the other music on here is stuff I haven’t listened to in ages, Semisonic, Boys Like Girls, Switchfoot, Fuel… So I’m thinking it’s maybe more of a “here’s some new stuff and some old favorites of yous, enjoy!” type of playlist.

If you haven’t checked it out and are a music buff, you should give it a listen!

Listen on, Blog on, keep on writing!

Also, remember this when you’re writing… Our imaginations and skills are not limited to our gender or age so write what you feel like writing, no matter what others think!

Memories – Food for thought

In honor of Throwback Thursday I was asked what my first memory is.
We have all been told things about our lives that we may not remember. Whether it’s from our early childhood or here recently, if we hear it enough does it then become a memory or a story?
I’ve been told a story over and over about my grandfather calling me his boss when I was a little girl, I don’t remember this but I can see it and hear it so does it then become a memory?
My earliest memory is a sweet one. I didn’t like going to school because that meant leaving my very loving grandparents and usually moped alongside my grandpa all the way to the bus stop at the bottom of the hill. I was feeling unusually gloomy one day when grandpa decided to appeal to my competitive side and make it a race. Of course he was faster but I was determined to beat him.
He was showing off and acting silly when he slipped on the speed bump and fell straight on his butt. I stopped running and giggled while asking him if he was okay. Then the next memory I have is from 3 years later.
Another question is if you remember an event but your best friend swears it’s different, which is a memory and which is a story? Just something I’ve been chewing on lately. Enjoy the food for thought!

Excuses, excuses, excuses… Sigh

Everyone knows that life takes over but what some of us do, i.e. me, is hide behind excuses. Yes, I am a busy mom and wife, not to mention a 40hr+ a week worker and try to find time for writing writer. That doesn’t mean that writing should take a back burner when I get stuck. Which I totally have been for months and months.
Instead of admitting I’m not sure how to carry on from where I am at, I learn new recipes and come up with more dishes to cook for my boys, lol. Granted I do need to find more of that stuff too but again it’s just another reason, excuse, to not work on my writing.
I will say that on World of Warcraft I now have 3 level 100 characters and one that is 98…
Maybe one day I will get back around to writing. There are days when I itch to add more then remember I can’t quite figure it out, then I give up and log onto WoW or search for recipes.
I can also say I have finished listening to Sex and the city the series, Friends and most of That 70’s show. Thanks NetFlix and HBO GO APPs for fueling that newly founded addiction!
Anyway, maybe tonight I will charge my Bluetooth keyboard so I can actually write some tomorrow… Oops, son needs my attention… Happy Writing and Blogging y’all!
